The economy is not doing very well so understanding how to get free media for your business is imperative!  So how do you do it, especially since you may not have much experience?  Realtor.com has actually come up with a very small and simple handout that explains the basics of getting free media.  You can get the handout here.

Since a number of you will not know how to write a proper press release I strongly suggest that you take a look at the following website.  Rapid press release has done a very good job of giving individuals an explanation of both what to write in a press release as well as giving examples of press releases.

So what are you waiting for?  Get your news into a press release, email, fax and make phone calls!
