November 4th 2008 will absolutely go into the history books as one of the most important dates in history! Not only did we elect the very first African American president but the strategic way in which it was done was amazing! There are many things that I want to say about this election. For this post I only want to speak about the way in which Barack Obama uses language to bring confidence to the American people. I believe there is no better example than his acceptance speech. I know that the United States economy will begin to soar due to his ability to grab the American people and have them understand that we are moving in a positive direction. The following are quotes from his speech last night that I thought did this best:
” . . . It’s been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this date in this election at this defining moment change has come to America.”
” . . . I will never forget who this victory truly belongs to. It belongs to you. It belongs to you.”
” . . . And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn, I may not have won your vote tonight, but I hear your voices. I need your help. And I will be your president, too.” Read the rest of this entry »
